The very first Space Force Pitch Day will be aimed at continuing the initiative to demonstrate a faster and smarter strategy in technology investments and partnerships with small businesses. As critical sources of innovative new ideas and solutions, the Space Force is inviting small businesses to pitch their new technology solutions and concepts targeting our most critical Space challenges.
Any small business, entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and innovator can attend the event!
Summer 2021 – Location TBD
The only way to participate at Space Force Pitch Day is to apply for and be awarded an SMC Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase I contract under topic #AF203-CSO2. Pitching in March at Space Force Pitch Day is a part of the Phase II award process.
Space Force Pitch Day will leverage existing SBIR solicitation. During Space Force Pitch Day, companies already awarded SBIR Phase I contracts have the opportunity to pitch their ideas for SBIR Phase II funding that can be processed within one day.
Notification letters will identify your proposal as either selected/funded, selected/unfunded, or not selected.
Due to limited resources, there were proposals that scored high enough to be technically acceptable for award however, did not score high enough above the cut line to receive funding (selected/unfunded). Those that were identified as “selected/funded will be awarded a Phase I contract and an opportunity to participate in the customer discovery phase of the Space Force Pitch Day effort. Companies with proposals identified as selected/funded will also receive an RFP for Phase II and a chance to pitch their solutions to senior Air Force and Space Force leadership for selection of a Phase II award.
